School Council

The school council at Brunel was formed because the children on the playground had loads of good ideas about what could be improved at Brunel but no formal way of telling the people that run the school what they felt.

School councillors in Brunel are elected by their class in the first half term of the new school year.  Each child wishing to stand for election produces a manifesto to tell their class why they would make a good Councillor.  After they are elected by their class a Councillor:-

  • Goes to meetings and takes part in the discussions
  • Talks to the class after the meeting to tell them what was discussed
  • Takes back the class views to the next meeting
  • Helps with any projects/events that the Council run

Since the school Council has started it has organised fun dressing up days, cake sales, discos, interviewed for a new head teacher and lots more!
