Welcome back Seaton class!

Hello and welcome to Seaton class!

The children have been wonderful at settling into their new class and adjusting to new routines.

This week, we have been getting to know each other and beginning our learning with place value in Maths and the story of Beowulf in English.

Our topic for this term is ‘Would You Rather be a Saxon or a Viking?’ Please see the topic web attached for more details on what we will be learning in each subject.

We are beginning our English journey with learning how to write a non-chronological report about a mythical creature. We are keen readers at Brunel, and in Seaton class we love to hear about ANYTHING the children are enjoying to read. Please encourage your child to read at home and to share what they are reading at school with us. We ask for school books to be read at home for 15 minutes a night at least 5 times a week and for this to be noted by an adult in their reading records. This is so important as reading is the key to all learning across the curriculum!

Maths homework with be sent home this week - they need to complete a page a week. Spelling booklets for Seaton have already been sent home this week. Testing will start on Friday (15th).

I have attached the year 6 information below for your information. Please email or see me at the end of the day (once I have seen all of the children out) if you ever need to give me a message or ask a question.
